Comments
When visitors leave comments we collect the information shown on the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection. We may create an anonymized hash of your email address and provide it to the Gravatar service to check for a profile image. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture may be publicly visible next to your comment.
Cookies
Comment cookies: If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience.
These cookies last for one year.Login cookies: Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in we set cookies to save your login and screen display choices.
Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last one year. If you select Remember Me your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
Post editing cookie: If you edit or publish an article, we save a cookie that indicates the post ID you edited; it contains no personal data and expires after one day.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly. Those third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including when you are logged in to those services.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely so we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments.
Registered users: If you register on the site we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time except for their username. Site administrators can also view and edit profile information.
